About Villa Sarah Nafi
Villa Sarah Nafi was completed mid-2014 in the Norh Bali hills.
You are surrounded by a garden with original vegetation like teak (djati) and cashew trees. In the adjacent river valley, you will find impressive bamboo groves that still form an important source of income for the local farmers.
From the public road, the site has been made accessible by a concrete lane to our plot and the neighbors' villa. The lane is accessible for small cars and mini-vans. The villa has a small deck where two cars can be parked. In the construction and decoration great attention has been paid to details, color and the used materials. The building design suits the environment, with a natural connection between inside and outside. And a living room that is completely open on two sides. When it rains hard it can be protected by bamboo blinds (called krees), these provide extra shade too when needed. Unique is the beautiful view of the surrounding hills, the coastal plain and the sea. In front of the living room and the two bedrooms is a veranda that opens onto a kidney-shaped fishpond.
Due to the higher location in the hills, the tropical climate is most pleasant here. Both bedrooms can be completely closed off by sliding glass doors when using the air conditioning. However, the combination of some sea breeze at night and the higher location make sleeping without air conditioning possible. In that case, the louvered doors can be used to close the bedrooms with fresh air circulation. The ‘study’ provides some additional space, accessible from one of the bedrooms. There you find an additional storage space, a large desk and a well-stocked bookcase with literature and non-fiction about Indonesia and Bali.
