About the owners
The last two decades, the Amsterdam based villa owners travelled the Indonesian archipelago intensively. They worked there as consultants commissioned by Dutch government agencies as well. Their family history is closely associated with the former Dutch East Indies and modern Indonesia. They have family in Indonesia and know the country quite well by now.
They travelled many regions of Indonesia, such as Java, the Riau Archipelago, Sumatra, Sulawesi, Kalimantan, Bali, Lombok, Flores, Sumbawa, Timor and the Moluccas. Building a house in the archipelago was a dream that could be realized in 2014. As location they chose the quiet north coast of Bali. Firstly because of the family-ties with the area (the grandfather of one of the owners lived in Singaraja as a Dutch government official before Indonesia,s independence). Secondly because of the good facilities in the immediate vicinity.
Villa Sarah Nafi is for rent as a holiday venue because the owners can use it only a few times a year, while the house, pool and garden need maintenance and (literally) energy and care all year round. But even more important: the owners love the idea that others enjoy this place too. Finally, for the employees it is satisfactory when there are guests around to care for.
